This Cape Cod Shed is styled after 17th-century New England architecture. Sure to fit in with your business, pool, retreat, or backyard area. The Cape Cod shed can be used as a traditional outdoor storage shed or can be fitted as an office or studio. Pequea’s Designer Shed package includes an assortment of options that can be added to select shed models. These options include larger windows, Z style shutters, 3 ½” curved picture frames on windows, 3 ½” curved trim on the door, decorative hinges on the door, 3 ½” corner trim, painted rake and fascia trim, two 12×18 vents, and (for a Workshop shed) 10” overhangs. 

In most areas, you will not need a permit for a shed that is smaller than 100 sq ft. However, larger sheds will usually require a permit. Regulations for permits and building projects differ by each individual area, so be sure to check in with your local building department to find your building regulations and all permit requirements!  

There are many factors that affect the life expectancy of a shed. In general, sheds can last for 25 years when properly maintained. The longevity of your shed will depend on the primary material you choose for it, who builds the shed, where the shed is placed, and on what kind of foundation it is placed on, as well as other factors.  

The type of foundation you will need for your shed depends on the kind of shed you buy! If your shed comes with a built-in shed (like many of our sheds do!), a gravel pad is a great choice for your shed. A shed without a floor should be placed on a concrete pad.
